Silky Oaks Medical Practice

A family-owned general practice on Manly Road,
looking after the bayside since 1987.

Introducing Silky Oaks Medical.

Silky Oaks has been on Manly Road since 1987.

Dr Paul Mercer opened the practice, has trained generations of registrars here, and still consults on Fridays. That is the whole idea, really. Doctors who stay, in a practice that stays, looking after the same bayside families year after year.

Our GPs are male and female, working alongside practice nurses, a midwife and allied health under the one roof. Some consult in Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Gujarati, Russian, Sinhalese, Tamil, Malay or Hokkien. We look after Wynnum, Manly, Lota, Tingalpa and the suburbs around them, six days a week.

People you know, healthcare you trust.

Heart disease risk assessment is commonly considered from age 45, and earlier for some groups.
This website tool is a simple screening prompt to help decide whether to book a heart health check. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace medical advice. If you have urgent symptoms such as chest pain or shortness of breath, seek immediate medical care.
